David was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital with Bacterial Meningitis three years ago today....he just was a sleepy head all day and we couldn't get a response from him about 6 p.m. and Lexis and I got concerned. We called Landon and he came right over and told me to call an ambulance....he could tell something was very wrong with his dad.
Thankfully, after 5 days on life support and 12 days in ICU he walked out of the Hospital on a walker to go home. The walker didn't last long - it still has the tags on it and is hanging in the garage! The Dr. told us when he released David that he had a "strong constitution" to overcome this illness and that although he told the family that David had a 50/50 chance of survival.....really it was only a 20 % chance of survival due to the depth of this illness.
Praise be to God for allowing us 3 more years with our Dad, Pops and Hubby! More praise that David's health that was not affected by this disease that ravaged his body and thankfulness to Drs. at St. Lukes for saving his life.
