The Front bed completely cleaned out and rock placed.
Landon decided he would do an Extreme Makeover Yard Edition
on our front yard! A few years ago he made a beautiful goldfish pond in the back yard.
Sunday, he cleared out all the old shrubs, plants, hundreds of lizards homes and a cat's hideout in the front right bed.
He got so tired and couldn't do the clean up without help....he called on 'good ole Mom' to come and help him. I raked and raked and shoveled clippings into the wheel barrow. Landon and I then bagged up over 10 bags and 2 large trashcans FULL. Since it was time change Sunday - we stayed out later!
Again...it was good bonding time with Landon....he's so much like my dad and enjoys outdoor activities such as gardening and just being outdoors in the fresh air.
Today, we went to the stone yard and bought @ 300 pds. of moss rock, we picked through the rock together to get just the right shapes....we got rock several different times for the pond....so, we think it will take a few more trips for the edge of the flower beds. Landon designed the outline for the bed with the moss rock and then filled it with top soil .... now it's ready for planting.
This week Landon is going to search the internet for a good bed design and the best plants for our region along with "easy" to care for plants as we don't have time for yard work these days with everyone working full time.
Don't you just love the internet and Google searches? I love this part of the internet where we can learn and better ourselves.
