Kayla is improving quickly now!

More Hannah Montana stickers ....Nana got her to put them on the pillow so she could see them.
Kayla with nasal cannula! Yeah Kayla - good job!
After one of those treatments that wipe her out....this is right before the nurse put the cannula on her .....she took a little nap first!
Coop sleeping on the bench - he got his blanket and put himself on the pillow and went to sleep without an encouragement after lunch! He's really worn out of this place! 6 days now!
Kayla's eyes are much brighter now....she's still not well, but MUCH better than a few days ago.

Good job Kayla ~ she is now off the face mask and on the nasal cannula. Nana was with her yesterday when the nurse took off the face mask and put in the nasal cannula. They''ve tried it before with not good results. Her SATS stayed up this time and we were all so thrilled. The only thing is.....Kayla didn't want to lose the mask....she'd had it 5 days 24/7 and didn't want it gone. So, Nana played some games with her and the mask and we finally got it to the side of her bed where I put it under her pillow and the nurse got it and put it on the rack.

Here are some pictures of Kayla with the cannula on and she's doing very well. Also, she's on these horrible treatments where the face mask suctions to her face and oxygen & meds are forced into her lungs. It sounds loud and forceful as the treatment goes on....she started with 4 per day and down to 3 per day today. I believe this treatment is helping heal her ~ even though we have to hold her down for this one. It's scary having all that air hit you like a ton of bricks...but, it works! The IVs were removed yesterday and she's paddle free now on those arms.

Also, Kayla ate good for Nana yesterday....she ate Macaroni and Cheese and a small cup of pineapple and chicken nuggets! She's really hungry now and that's good! Mom says she is eating well today too.

They are talking Sunday coming home.....so cross your fingers that Kayla continues to improve. She's been so sweet and so patient.
