We had a terrible rain storm today with winds like we really see here on the Gulf Coast.....we had some leaking from our roof that will be replaced next week. They canceled this week due to the rain storm coming our way. Now, we'll have to have some ceiling leaks repaired. I haven't checked all the windows but the rain was blowing sideways and there might be window leaking as well.
The backyard Cabana held down with cement blocks was blown over. It blew over in the Hurricane as well ~ we were surprised it was even in the yard when we got home!
When looking out the back window upstairs I saw something orange in the yard and it flopped around and I realized that one of the coy fish had jumped or blown out of the fish pond! Lexis saw it too and she ran downstairs and took both hands and lifted it back up and into the pond. He was at least 8" long! So, Lexis saved a fish's life today!
Also, you'll see pictures of the flooding in the front of the house - it came over the sidewalk into our yard. We had to move three cars out of the street to the driveway in order to keep them from flooding out. We haven't seen the water that high in our yard since early June 1989 when we first moved to this house and we were afraid we were going to flood after living here a couple of weeks!
It's nice to have the rain for our yard and new plantings, but, this was major rain and of course Landon ran downstairs and reminded me that he hadn't gotten the mulch in the new flower bed. Ooooppppps.....we'll have some work to do tomorrow to put some of the plantings back in place!
Tomorrow, Sunday is suppose to be absolutely beautiful! So, we will enjoy some sunshine this weekend.
