Broken Pot we got for $5.00.....reg. marked $24.99 ! Doesn't hurt to ask (my motto)! The other side of the front yard is now completed and looks very good (we think)! The rock went down nicely and all the top soil and then the plantings.
Here are some of the plants:
Gardenia bushes with 4" blooms that bloom May - Nov. (we'll see) then we put some yellow and red spiky things next to those - don't know the name of these but Landon liked them. Middle front it Party Time (we think that's what she said)...it's a little like the coleus plant. Last, we put more of the whiskey and vodka begonia's out to the sides of the Party Time. Hope it looks nice once it matures.
Landon is faithfully watering the new baby plants and is proud of the right side and how it is maturing after several weeks. There is new green growth and the whiskey and vodka begonia's are doing well....if we are lucky, they might make it through the winter down here in Southern Texas.
Now, we need to work on getting the grass to grow. For some reason just about every other summer the grubbs decide they like our grass and they bring all their family and friends to our yard to eat up the grass roots and make our yard look horrible. Besides that we have huge tree coverage that prohibits the sun from getting to much grass. Today I saw a yard in Houston that had ground cover all over the front yard and it was really pretty! Wonder if that would work out here?
