Pictures of Mom's House ~ Built in 1936

The house is a Ada Centennial Home built in 1936.
Beautiful older home in Ada in prime neighborhood.....mom is keeping the house for the time being until we can clean it out and get it ready for sale.
Beautiful Basket Weave ceramic tile on bathroom floor.
"W" Towels going to new apartment.
New tile work....this shower has continued to have leaking problems and the "Oatmeal" tile cannot be found these days. We thought they did a nice job with this newer tile install.
Same under the sink - new tile had to replace old tiles pulled out for repairs.
The Cute little bathroom is one of my favorites of the house.
My Dumpster diving for more newspapers....Ada Evening News.....in order to pack the China Cabinet. I brought boxes but now papers!
The first load in moving to the Apt.
Here are the 3 biggest obstacles in this move for me....carrying boxes down these stairs which are very slick when wet.
Past this rock walkway - some of the rocks are loose and I had to be very careful not to fall myself.
Last obstacle - the pea gravel driveway....

Mom's house built in 1936 has only been lived in by 2 families to date. The Pollock Family built the house in 1936 and dad and mom bought it from them in 1969. Mom's been there for 40 years now and all the wood stairs are slick and terrify us of her falling on them. I didn't get pictures this trip of the stairs - but, there are 2 sets - one set to bedrooms upstairs and one set to basement. Unfortunately, there is only a 1/2 bath on the main floor and thus mom cannot stay in this house forever in her older years.

This house was not made for old people or children.....and it wears me out when I go to visit with all the stairs. So, mom has been dealing with these stairs for too many years now.
