Father's Day 2008 ~ Our family takes the late shift on celebrations since LeJoy and Larry and Landon have other family events to celebrate in the area and they usually have the noon meal with other family members of their spouse (Larry) and girlfriend (Valerie).
Today David's cooking his favorite "Steaks" and we are fixing baked potatoes....mom fixed brownies yesterday for the event, but, not sure how many are left for today!
At Christmas time David mentioned he wanted a bike as Landon and Lincoln recently bought bikes. He thought he might like to ride a bike periodically for exercise. We all said "no, he won't ride it".......we decided against a bike. After Christmas David mentioned he didn't get his bike for Christmas. SO guess what we are getting him for Father's Day? You guessed it.....a bike! I will post pictures soon of it. We bought one with 7 speeds and a bigger seat for comfort! Now, we are going to insist that he wear a helmet and a florescent vest! We bought him a headlight and a flashing light for the back of the bike as we know he will be riding at night most likely as it's too hot during the day time here in Texas.
We also bought a cute little tag and attached it to the bike. It says "2 Fast 4U"...we all laughed when we saw this tag and said...that's what we got to put on dad's bike.
The Grand Twins came over about 2 p.m. and Nana and Mommy took Cooper & Kayla to the neighborhood pool that has a wonderful baby pool with a tower and water slide. We sat in the 4 inch section of water with the twins as they are not too sure of the water yet and are very wobbly on their feet. They are 21 months old now, the same age their Uncle Lincoln was when the twins mother, LeJoy was born. LeJoy is happy that she's not having any more babies....ever. Two is enough and two at once was more than they prayed for, but, what a blessing these twins have been to the Davis Fam.
Lincoln, Landon & Valerie, Lexis and LeJoy's family all came to the house for dinner tonight to celebrate with dad. It was a great time with the family.....thankfully, most of our kids live within 30 minute drive to our house.
